The passion for making Stenfis joinery comes from the choice of the wood used. Only the best suitable for the specific purpose and only the most environmentally-safe timbers are employed: because love of work also means respect for the world we live in.
The chopping, where the raw wood undergoes the first important preparation that gives the wood regulus the approximate size of the posts and rails making up the the joinery.
The technological “core” of Stenfis: The Celaschi line used to produce posts and rails ready to be assembled and to form windows, shutters and doors. The technologically advanced production line alone covers a surface of 200 square meters. To continuously optimise the end product some improvements have been recently made to the production line:
- additional fitting of a system for the automatic machining of wooden drip flap slots;
- optimisation of an electronic anti-splitting system, the Colibrì ©, which has the replaced the old anti-splitting devices;
- extension of the Numeric Control capacity to manage the automatic selection of bad work pieces and to reduce production errors;
- addition of new operating units on the boring machine to allow the automatic machining of the holes for the new hinges.
A presetting system has been installed to optimise the performance of machines. This system enables to set with micrometric precision the correct eccentricity during the replacement of tool cutters. This helps to ensure constantly equal production and finishing standards.
Shutter posts undergo an additional pass through the chiselling machine, where the slots for the slat assembling are machined.
The precision to a tenth of a millimetre of machines always goes along with the refined finishing by experienced craftsmen, who give the end product its very special flair. In 2005 the finishing area of the Company has been equipped with a new extraction system for orbital sanding units and orientable arms. This contributes to improve the safety of workers, the healthiness of the working environment, as well as the quality of the finishing.
Our production area is such a rare example in the joinery production branch, that the German tool manufacturer Festool has asked the permission to mention Stenfis in the technical literature published in the German speaking area.
New specifically designed working tables optimise and support the team working in the finishing area.
For the painting of windows only water- based products are used in order to respect the environment and bring out the “living” characteristics of wood.. Faithful to this idea, during 2006 Stenfis will obtain the environmental certification iso 14001 also. Every single end product will always undergo the same check- ups according to a strict and precise protocol, which is continuously updated.
